Iris van Ellen – translator and localisation specialist.

For me, translation begins with understanding. I first want to establish how a business sees itself, what story it tells and how it wants to be perceived by its guests.

German is my native language. I specialise in translating Spanish hotel and tourism content into German and localising it for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Chile is my main regional focus because I lived there and experienced its everyday life, language and cultural context first-hand. My experiences in Ecuador, Peru and other South American countries have further broadened my understanding of cultural differences within the region.

German web and tourism content for Latin America is completed with a final review by a native speaker of Latin American Spanish.

A business has an identity of its own. It is expressed through its history, values, language and the way it communicates with guests. These elements form the basis of my work.
